The Hario Mugen Switch dripper is an improved version of the Hario V60, thanks to two key features:

  • The Mugen version is made of plastic, which means less thermal inertia and therefore prevents the water from cooling too quickly upon contact with the dripper. Furthermore, the Mugen's grooves help to limit channeling compared to the original version.
  • The Switch version allows, thanks to a small tab on the side, to stop the flow of water and thus switch to total immersion, for the desired duration.

It is therefore an extremely versatile dripper, which opens up an infinite number of possibilities, to be adapted according to each coffee.

Advantages of Origami

Versatility: Allows you to play with both conical and flat filters.

ExtractionThe grooves allow for faster water flow than in V60, resulting in less clogging and a more vibrant acidity.

Design: rather subjective but it is considered to be a beautiful object in a kitchen.

Disadvantages of Origami

FragileA beautiful porcelain object unfortunately has the disadvantage of breaking easily if dropped. Handle with care!

thermal inertiaWe are referring here to the ceramic versions, which ideally require preheating the dripper before starting the extraction. Plastic versions exist, but we do not currently offer them.
