The French press coffee maker, also called a " French press ," owes its invention, as its name suggests, to two "Frenchies" who created it in 1852.

This infusion extraction method produces a full-bodied, powerful coffee with a silky texture.

A technique that has conquered the entire world for a simple and practical ritual, which nevertheless requires patience to ensure balance and elegance in the cup.

Steps in preparing a French Press

Step 1Grind 30g of coffee to obtain a coarse to medium grind, similar to coarse cooking salt.

Step 2Position the French Press on the scale, pour the ground coffee into the coffee maker and tare.

Step 3Bring the water to a boil (92-95°C), start the timer and pour the water over the ground coffee at a relatively rapid rate.

Step 4: Let it steep for 4 minutes.

Step 5Stir with a spoon to make the solid particles settle to the bottom.

Step 6Place the lid on the coffee maker and wait 3 minutes. Gravity will remove some of the solids.

Step 7Slowly press the plunger to separate the last floating particles of coffee.

Step 8Wait 2 minutes

Step 9Serve or decant immediately to avoid bitter notes.
